Ashleigh & Trace’s Engagement Session at Arch City Tavern and the Columbus Museum of Art

When a love story begins with a first date that never really ended, you can feel it in the pictures. Ashleigh and Trace met over drinks at Arch City Tavern in the Short North, and years later we found ourselves right back at that same bar, capturing the start of another chapter.

They walked in looking effortlessly chic: Trace in a sleek black suit and Ashleigh in a white lace dress with off-the-shoulder sleeves. She slid up onto the bar, swinging her legs just slightly, while Trace leaned in with a cocktail in hand. The whole scene was warm and cinematic, surrounded by holiday lights, garland, and glowing glassware. They clinked glasses and smiled in that quiet way couples do when home is found in someone else’s eyes.

The bar stools, the wood paneling, the soft sparkle behind them — everything was cozy, lively, and full of history. They laughed about their first date, told stories between sips, and for a moment it felt like time had folded in on itself. What started here became something real, and now here they were, celebrating their engagement.

From Cocktails to Modern Art

We headed to the Columbus Museum of Art. Ashleigh changed into a sleek white floor-length dress that fit perfectly with the museum’s modern architecture. It hugged her silhouette in the most elegant way, and as she walked across hardwood floors with Trace’s hand in hers, she looked every bit like she stepped out of a bridal editorial.

The gallery walls, the artwork, the soft winter light — it all created a quiet, refined backdrop. Trace looked at her with that same warm expression, proud and a little in awe. They walked together, fingers linked, both smiling as if they already knew this season was only the beginning.

I love how these two moved together. Nothing forced. No exaggerated posing. Just tenderness, confidence, and a deep calm that comes from choosing each other again and again.

Counting Down to Their Winter Wedding

I can already see their winter wedding at The Athletic Club in 2026 and it’s going to be incredible. The setting, the style, the comfort they have together — all of it will shine. After this engagement session, I am even more excited. They are the kind of couple that brings warmth into a room and makes everyone around them feel it.

Ashleigh and Trace, thank you for spending the evening with me. From cozy cocktails at Arch City to elegant moments in the galleries, photographing your story was such a joy. I cannot wait for 2026.

I’m a storyteller at heart, a mom to two incredible kids, and someone who’s endlessly inspired by connection, beauty, and meaning. I’ve spent the last decade building a life I love through photography, travel, and relationships that matter. Whether I’m documenting a wedding in Europe or exploring the world with my family, I’m always chasing the moments that make life feel full. I believe in showing up wholeheartedly, finding joy in the little things, and leaving people better than I found them.
