Katie and Chris’ Engagement Shoot at Franklin Park Conservatory

Katie and Chris’ engagement session at Franklin Park Conservatory in Columbus, Ohio was the perfect blend of elegance and fun. The Conservatory is one of the most iconic engagement shoot locations in Columbus, and it set the stage for their romantic session filled with laughter, style, and celebration. As a Columbus Ohio wedding photographer, I couldn’t have asked for a better backdrop to capture their love story.

We started the session with a more dressed-up look. Chris wore a classic suit while Katie looked radiant in a chic white dress—timeless outfits that highlighted their sophisticated style. Among the lush greenery of the Franklin Park Conservatory, these two looked like they had stepped right out of a magazine.

To celebrate their engagement, Katie and Chris popped a bottle of Veuve Clicquot during the shoot, making for some of my favorite candid photos of the day. There’s nothing like a champagne pop to bring out those genuine laughs and big smiles—it was the perfect way to mark such a joyful chapter in their story.

Afterward, they changed into more relaxed outfits that still brought the romance. Katie wore a flowing blue dress that moved beautifully with every step, while Chris opted for a more casual yet polished look. This second outfit gave us a whole new set of dreamy engagement photos with a more laid-back, playful feel.

Franklin Park Conservatory gave us endless photo opportunities—between the vibrant gardens and open spaces, every corner offered something magical.

I cannot wait for Katie and Chris’ wedding at Jorgensen Farms Oak Grove next year! Oak Grove is one of my favorite Columbus wedding venues, with its glass greenhouse setting and natural surroundings. Knowing how much fun we had during their engagement session, I just know their wedding day is going to be absolutely incredible.
